New iPod Nano 6th Generation Reviews -- The Best Nano Ever?

The New Apple iPod Nano 6th Generation -- The Coolest Nano Yet!
If you're a fan of the iPod Nano mp3 player from Apple (and who isn't?) you're going to be very happy with the brand-new 2010 6th Generation version. In my opinion this is by far the best Apple Nano ever... and maybe even the best iPod ever!
It's small, sleek, light, bright, colorful, powerful, and extremely easy to use. It even has multi-touch navigation. It's also one of the best "mini" mp3 players to carry with you're working out.
Please share your own opinions, comments, and questions in the "feedback" area below. Also, any reviews of the new iPod Nano would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and enjoy!

How is it the best nano ever when it took away a bunch of features from last year's model but still costs the same?
Add a touch screen, make it smaller, sacrifice functionality, rake in the cash. It's sad that Apple doesn't even have to try anymore.
You have a point John. But a lot of the "lost" functionality I would argue really wasn't that great or useful in the first place. For example, I've used the video camera feature in my 5th generation Nano literally ONCE in the 10 months that I've owned it. I greatly prefer the much smaller size, lighter weight, and easier touch-screen navigation in the new 6th gen Nano!
I just got to take a look at the new Nano and I REALLY like it! I don't know if it's the best iPod ever but it's really, really cool. It'll definitely be my new workout mp3 player!
Alright, I just got this thing...IT SUCKS SOOO HORRIBLY! I WOULD PREFER A SHUFFLE! THIS THING IS JUST AWFUL....TAKE MY ADVICE! DON'T WASTE MONEY!
Good hub. I really enjoy my apple iPod nano 6th generation! Most people are really hating against it and I personally don't really know why? Some people I guess are just scared of change. idk
I bought the new Nano last week and so far I like it. It's got a ton of great features and I haven't had any trouble with the touchscreen navigation which seems to be the biggest 6th-gen complaint. One common complaint is true though: it's a little too heavy. I bought it mainly to use as my workout music player but it's definitely not comfortable clipped onto a sleeve. Just bounces around too much. Other than that I'm 95% happy with this cool little ipod! (I'll be back in a month to leave another more in-depth review.)
I just purchased a silver Nano 6G last night. My biggest concern was the lack of a physical play/pause button, as with my old Nano 2G, I could immediately stop the music even from a pocket in my shorts or jeans. However, after testing the ergonomics of the new Nano in the store over the previous two evenings, I decided to take the jump.
I wanted an iPod with a smaller form factor, but I wanted to be able to exercise control over my music. Also, I wanted to upgrade from an 8 GB iPod to something larger. The Shuffle would not fit my needs, and thus the only alternative was the long 4G or 5G Nanos, which are actually 3 mm longer than my 2G Nano. I think Apple hit the nail on the head with this one.
Apple went back to the original concept of the "Nano" - a tiny iPod that still offers a full iPod music experience. They had two alternatives - lose the screen, which is the essence of the Shuffle, or lose the click-wheel, to save space. Thus, we've wound up with an incredibly small, 16 GB (or 8 GB) device, weighing in at half the physical size and half the weight of the Nano 2G and similar reductions compared to the 4G and 5G.
So what if it doesn't record video? I want to play music. I wouldn't want to watch a video on such a tiny screen as the 3G/4G/5G anyway; I'll save that for a larger device. It retains an improved version of the FM radio receiver from the previous models, which is handy at the gym or any time you're in the mood for something different. And as for the price issue? It's a decent amount of storage on a device that's about 1.5 inches square. I don't see the video camera from the 5G Nano as having added any real value, for example, while I place a high value on the size. I wouldn't have upgraded if the 6G weren't so small. As far as being able to control the device without always having to look at it... I'm planning on purchasing a set of headphones with an in-line remote, which will solve that "problem."
All in all, I'm pleased.
I have used it for a day from a friend who was trying to sell it. What i am saying is that it is merely a basic mp3 with a couple of moinor features that are not worth the cost. Also lol at people who have fun playing around with the screen. Buy an iPod touch.
This ipod sucks! It's way too small. What if you want to watch a vdeo with a friend? The screen is way too tiny.
If you don't own a shuffle, its handy for running. With the play-pause option, just buy a pair of headphones used for the iPhone 3Gs and 4 - you can use those to start and stop the music. Also, buy plugging in these headphones, the 'Voice Memos" app appears! If you want video, get a video camera...or an iPhone 4.
My husband surprised me with it cause he heard me say that I wanted it and what a lovely gesture. I currently have the 4th generation and I love it. I've been very happy with it, I use it at work and I couldn't work a full day without it. I'm sorry to say that I'm not impressed with this new nano as I thought I would be. I took it to work and loved the "shake" to shuffle option at first, I move around so much that it kept changing the song just when I was getting into it. So, I turned that option off, the next day it did it again. Also, the battery life doesn't seem to last as long as they say. Gonna try to reset it and hopefully it will right itself or maybe I just got a faulty one. One more thing the screen turned on it's own constantly.
I love my new Nano 6-Gen! I'm a gadget geek who has literally dozens of different personal electronics items with mp3 and music playing capabilities. Along with my little Samsung the new Nano is my favorite of the bunch. Definitely the best small iPod I've owned. I plan on buying a couple for Christmas gifts this year!
I just got one, and there is something wrong with the headphones jack. I have tried 2 other sets of headphones, and it appears that the headphone jack just doesn't hold the headphones securely. As a result, the volume changes or sounds like I'm listening to the music from a far away room. Have others experienced this problem? I've googled it, and it seems like people have had similar issues, but the only solution I've seen is to pay for the repairs yourself, which I think is ridiculous.
my two-month old ipod nano`s sleep/wake button got stuck and i could turn the ipod on anymore...i googled about this and found out that a lot of people are experiencing the same problem as me....
I miss the old model! this new ipod is annoying, plus it costs just as much as the old one and has less features. No video camera, no games, etc. Im glad i have my music after losing my old ipod but i really wish apple would start selling the old model again. it was much easier to use and wouldnt get fingerprints on it that had to be cleaned everyday. plus the buttons are irrating and the touch screen is hard to control.
I CANT TURN MY ON ANYMORE AFTER UPDATING THE NEWEST FIRMWARE 1.1 this ipod really sucks
You know I dont Own A Ipod At All So i cant rewiew but you know i do mine my nefhew as one i was playing with it you know i was thinking to my self this is a ipod shuffle with a screen and more memory thats all really but it at that bad Radio,Photo,Ipod-Nike,Music, Pretty much evey thing at ipod is made for so it doest play videos who cares go buy an itouch if you want that or it doest have apps, or internet like i said who cares its a basic orginall ipod that apple made along time ago, people are too selfish and ongradfull for what they have if you like music and photo go for it ok so its touch screen so thats cool but like i said i cant wait to get my hand on one again too see what else it can do in the furture
I had an iPod nano 6th generation until it dissapeared into the couch, the only reason i'm trying to find it is to sell it, and that's because it SUCKS!!!! It can't even play video podcast, it is the biggest waste of money ever!!!

Great Design on the New iPod Nano!
I have owned many different Apple "i" products, including various models of iPods, iPhones, and recently even an iPad. One of my favorites is my 5th generation iPod Nano which I use on an almost daily basis, from my morning workout to my car ride to work to my evening "audiobook" session. I really like the traditional click wheel and the built-in video camera of the 5th Gen so I was hesitant to buy the new 6th Gen model, which has neither. I decided to go for it thinking that I would probably end up returning it and getting my money back. Well, things have worked out in a very unexpected way. I LOVE the new Nano! The multi-touch touchscreen controls work very well and they're easier to use than the clickwheel. The miniature size is just about perfect for taking it everywhere and using it in just about every situation imaginable. The screen is sharp and good looking. The weight could be slightly less but, for the amount of memory and functionality packed into this little sucker it's fine for me. Yeah we lost the video cam but so what, I already have a mini video cam built into my cell phone and various other gadgets I often carry with me. So are those rare occasions that I want to capture a short video I'm good to go.
Overall I'm really, really happy with the new iPod. Apple has really outdone themselves this time. If you're looking for an extremely small and easy-to-use music player do yourself a favor and give the 6th generation Nano a try. You almost definitely won't be disappointed!

New Nano = Good Product with a Great Touch Screen
Hi, here's my review of the 8GB Apple iPod Nano I bought last week (Newest model/6th Generation). Please consider putting it on your page. Thanks!
Rating: 8 out of 10 Stars
I love the size of this new iPod. It's basically the perfect size for a personal music player that you want to carry everywhere with you IMHO. The sound quality is fantastic as is the case with nearly all the newer Apple products. The navigation takes a little bit of getting used to but overall I love the touch screen. It's truly a thing of beauty and I sometimes find myself just playing with it because it's so cool. My biggest complaint is the battery life. If you play around with the touchscreen a lot like I do it just zaps the battery's juice. I find that a little strange. But the good news is that if you just listen to music and let the screen go to sleep most of the time the battery has a pretty decent life, over 20 hours usually. Also, I do kind of miss the video cam feature of the last Nano model. I hope that in the 7th Generation Nano Apple figures out how to squeeze the vid cam back in while also giving us a little more battery life. Still, I do think that the new Nano is the best of the series and one of the best iPods I've owned. In fact I'm going to go back to messing around with the touch screen right now! :)
